MANKATO, MN – We knew it was going to be quite the battle between the two top teams in the league, and what a battle it was. The Habaneros beat the Night Mares 5-4 in a 7th-inning walk off cementing their solo spot in first place in the standings with an 8-2 record.

Jessa Snippes (University of Minnesota) got her fourth win on the season on the mound with an impressive 2.66 ERA and 4 strikeouts. She now leads the league in wins on the season as well.

All five runs were brought in by different players, showcasing the immense talent from the Habaneros lineup.

Josecelyn Bennett (Bryant and Stratton College) was the one who brought in the winning run for the most exciting win so far this season.

Not only were they impressive at the plate, but it was a notable night defensively as well. Altogether, the Habaneros had a total of 21 putouts and 10 assists.

The intensity of this matchup sets the stage for what promises to be an exciting doubleheader tomorrow night. With both teams contesting for dominance, the Habaneros will look to extend their win streak to 6 games and stay on top of the standings.
