MANKATO, MN – Another series sweep for the Habaneros as they win all 4 games in Minot to extend their winning streak to 11 games.

Game one was an 8-2 win for the Habaneros as they proved to be effective in all aspects on the field.

Emma Lee (Trine University) and Sailor Hall (Kirkwood Community College) both had 2 runs in game one as Hall tallied her first home run on the season.

Serena Timmer (University of Minnesota-Duluth) was impressive both offensively and defensively as she got her 2^nd home run of the season and ended the night with 7 putouts. Paige Zender (Iowa State) was also quite impressive with 10 putouts.

On the mound, Jayme Scheck (Drake University) earned her 3^rd win on the season as she posted a 3.42 ERA with 7 strikeouts.

Game two was another impressive 4-2 win for the Habaneros giving them quite the advantage in the standings as they now sit 7 games ahead of Madison in the standings.

Another amazing game defensively as the team tallied 21 putouts and 9 assists. Zender was another standout as she brought in 8 of those putouts.

Hall earned her 3^rd win on the mound in quite an outstanding showing. She faced 29 batters, only allowing 2 runs with 7 strikeouts, ending her night with a 1.27 ERA.

The Habaneros’ remarkable performance in Minot not only extended their winning streak to an impressive 11 games but also solidified their dominant position in the standings. On the mound, both Jayme Scheck and Hall delivered stellar performances, contributing to the team’s success with key strikeouts and maintaining low ERAs.

Leveraging the 30-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024.  The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play.  Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
