MANKATO, MN – Make that 12. The Habaneros are now on quite the impressive 12-game winning streak as they stay on top of the standings with a record of 15-2 after an 8-4 win against the Night Mares.
Amity White (University of South Alabama) had quite the notable showing in today’s game as she not only brought in a run to add to the lead, but she tallied on another stolen base to give her 14 on the season, leading the league.
Emma Lee (Trine University) and Sailor Hall (Kirkwood Community College) both brought in 2 runs to add to their impressive at-bats of late.
Defensively, Savannah Teale (Kentucky State University) and Serena Timmer (University of Minnesota-Duluth) were quite imposing. Teale had 8 putouts while Timmer had 6, as the team collectively had 21 putouts and 7 assists.
Jayme Scheck (Drake University) earned her 4th win on the season as she held her ground on the mound against Madison’s lineup. She faced 33 batters while only allowing 4 runs, producing 4 strikeouts, and ending the day with a 4.00 ERA.
The Habaneros and Night Mares will face again tomorrow evening in a doubleheader as the Habaneros look to keep this commanding win streak going.

Leveraging the 30-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024. The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play. Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
