MANKATO, MN – The Habaneros have unfortunately snapped their winning streak with a loss to Madison but were able to bounce back in game two to get win 16 on the season.

In game one, the Habaneros struggled to get into a rhythm at the plate until the 7th inning where they recorded 6 runs, almost completing the comeback but losing 9-6.

The 7th inning saw back-to-back home runs from Paige Zender (Iowa State) and Sailor Hall (Kirkwood Community College) now leaves Zender still first in the league with 6 and Hall tied for second with 3.

Game two was quite the hard-fought battle between the two teams as the Habaneros came out on top 9-7.

Hall had yet another homerun to start off the game and added another run to that, improving her batting average to .444.

Serena Timmer (University of Minnesota-Duluth) and Josecelyn Bennett (Bryant and Stratton College) both brought in 2 runs to secure the lead and win for the Habaneros.

The Habaneros and Night Mares will face off again at ISG Field in another doubleheader as these two games will be quite the showing from both teams from what we’ve seen so far.
