MANKATO, MN – It was a tough day for the Habaneros as they lost both games against the Night Mares. Even with the two losses, the Habaneros lineup still showed just how dominant they have been in the league.
Game one was a 12-6 loss that still proved to be impressive from the Habanero lineup.
Jessa Snippes (University of Minnesota) hit her third home run in three games. On the mound, she also threw two strikeouts facing 36 batters, ending her night with a 4.01 ERA.
Six different players brought in the runs, but unfortunately it wouldn’t be enough for the Habaneros to get the win.
Game two was another tough loss as the Habaneros narrowly lost 9-8.
Paige Zender (Iowa State) hit both her 11th and 12th home runs on the season.
Brooke Holmes (St. Cloud State University) also got another home run to add to the season.
Sailor Hall (Minnesota State University, Mankato) scored three runs and on the mound, she threw three strikeouts facing 30 batters, ending her night with a 6.56 ERA.
Jayme Scheck (Drake University) also saw time on the mound as she faced eight batters, threw three strikeouts, and ended her night with a 2.79 ERA.
The Habaneros will continue their homestand with a battle against the Steam as they look to get back into the win column.
