The year is coming to an end and so is the awards season in the Northwoods League. The Habaneros have collected many for their play on the field and one of the things that happen behind the scenes. This combination helps set a tone for what is to come in the season ahead.

The awards for the play on the field can’t be started with anything but the Championship. After locking up the season on the road in Madison, the Habaneros would end the season with an impressive 31-11 record. After winning the Championship it was a lock that coach Ries Welter would walk away as coach of the year and Triple Crown winner Paige Zender Player of the Year.

The on-field nodes did not stop there as an impressive 5 Habaneros players (Amity White, Paige Zender, Indigo Fish, Brooke Holmes, and Sailor Hall) would be named to the Rawlings Big Sticks team. These 5 players lead their positions in batting average. The Rawling team nodes wouldn’t stop there as Jessa Snippes and Paige Zender would make the Rawlings Finest in the Field team for leading their position in fielding %.

The final award was awarded to the production crew. Over the season the production crew worked tirelessly to ensure that every fan was able to take in a Habaneros game. The Northwoods League recognized this awarding the Habaneros with Best Game Day Coverage.
