Over this last week the Northwoods League Softball had a major change. The addition of a 5th team was officially confirmed when Wausau Softball Team showed up with the name our team contest. The long-time Northwoods League Baseball market looks ready to take on this endeavor after having Athletic Park updated with turf.
The Habaneros are excited to be able to travel and show the Mankato fans Athletic Park as it has been the better part of 20 years since a Mankato team has played in Wausau. The big question now is, how many times will the Habaneros play the new team? As the schedule looked last year one would hope to see the new team at least 8 times. The only way to know for certain is to wait patiently for the schedule to be released.
