The Sanford Family Summer Celebration is back, August 16-17, 2024 in Bismarck! This two-day extravaganza has something for everyone in the family.

Join us for a live Hairball concert on Friday, Aug. 16 at the MDU Resources Community Bowl from 5-9 PM. Then, enjoy our Family Adventure Day on Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Dakota Zoo and Superslide Amusement Park from 11 AM-4 PM.

Both events feature all-you-can-eat food and drinks with an adult beverage bar (21+). Family-friendly activities will include inflatables, a scavenger hunt, and more.

This event is FREE for all Sanford Health team members and families. You must RSVP for this event.

Yes! The Sanford Family Summer Celebration two-day extravaganza gets all team members the chance to enjoy the fun that best fits their family’s schedule.

The event is FREE for all Sanford Health team members and families. All attendees must RSVP prior to the event.

Yes – attendees 21-years and older can purchase adult beverages at both events. All attendees will be asked to show their IDs at the beverage stations.

  • MDU Resources Community Bowl: Parking is available on-site at 1701 Canary Ave, Bismarck, ND 58501. Attendees should use the parking lot next to the main entrance to the Community Bowl and the BSC Aquatic and Wellness Center. Overflow parking may be available. Street parking for this event along Canary Ave is NOT PERMITTED and cars may be towed by the City of Bismarck if parked there.
  • Dakota Zoo & Superslide Amusement Park: Parking is available at the zoo entrance and adjacent lots at 602 Riverside Park Rd, Bismarck, ND 58504.

Both the Hairball Concert and Family Adventure Day include inflatables for kids, face painting, a scavenger hunt, craft stations, and more. On Saturday, kids get to enjoy Dakota Zoo amenities, amusement park rides, games, and interactive exhibits.

All-you-can-eat food and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for free at both events. Water stations will be located throughout the venue. Alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase.

Casual and comfortable attire is recommended. Be prepared for outdoor weather conditions in August in Bismarck, North Dakota. Friday’s concert takes place in a grass field, so sunscreen and bug spray is recommended. There will be shade provided by tents as well. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in style for the Hairball concert on Friday.

The event will proceed rain or shine. In case of severe weather, updates will be communicated via email and the event webpage.

Only service animals are permitted at the events.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. There will be additional seating near the food tents with a view of the stage, which is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Yes, both venues are accessible. Please contact the organizers in advance for any specific needs.

Yes, attendees can leave and re-enter both event venues throughout the day. Wristbands or stamps will be provided for easy re-entry.

Outside food and drinks are not allowed. Water bottles are permitted during Friday night’s concert, but not inside the Dakota Zoo. Water stations will be provided on both days, and all-you-can-eat food and drinks are provided with your RSVP.

Gates open at 5 PM for the Hairball concert. Arriving early will ensure better seating options. Hairball’s performance is expected to begin at 6:30 PM and last approximately 2 hours.

Participant Release of Liability – Read Before Signing

As consideration for access to the Family Fun Zone (the “Premises”) and being allowed to participate in any way in the Funatix Events Program and any related events and activities on the Premises, the undersigned acknowledges, understands, and agrees that:

  1. I acknowledge and understand that the use of play equipment (such as a bounce house and zip line, slide, obstacle course) entails known and unknown risks of physical and emotional injury to myself and my children. These injuries include, but are not limited, to cuts, broken bones, sprained and torn ligaments, paralysis, death, or other bodily injury or property damage. I further understand that my participation or my children’s participation in these activities may not be supervised by Funatix Events, its employees and agents, and that I will need to continue to exercise my own judgment and control with respect to my and my children’s safety. I agree to take action to ensure myself and my children comply with the stated and customary rules for use, and if I observe any unusual or significant hazard or risk, I will remove myself and/or my children and bring this risk to the immediate attention of the nearest official. By my signature to this Release, I am voluntarily consenting to and assuming all risks, known and unknown, arising from the participation in these activities or use of the Premises by myself or my children.
  2. As further consideration for my and/or my children’s participation in these activities and use of the Premises, I further agree to hold harmless, release, indemnify, and discharge Funatix Events, Tumbling Tooties, Sanford Health, their officers, affiliated companies, agents, employees, and other participants (including sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of the premises used to conduct the event) (collectively, the “Released Parties”), from all claims, demands, cause of action, or liability (including any liability for the Released Parties’ own negligence) with respect to any and all injuries or damages arising from my and/or my children’s participation in these activities or use of the Premises.

I UNDERSTAND THAT BY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT I AM REPRESENTING THAT I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE AND UNDERSTAND THAT I AM GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT IN EXCHANGE FOR ACCESS TO THE PREMISES AND PARTICIPATION IN THE ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING ANY RIGHT I MAY HAVE TO BRING OR MAINTAIN A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE RELEASED PARTIES FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH TO ME OR MY CHILDREN ARISING OUT OF PARTICIPATION IN THESE ACTIVITIES AND USE OF THE PREMISES. IF I AM SIGNING ON BEHALF OF A MINOR CHILD, I AM A PARENT OR GUARDIAN WITH LEGAL AUTHORITY TO SIGN THIS DOCUMENT.

This is to certify that I, as parent / guardian, with legal responsibility for this participant do consent and agree to his/her release as provide above of all the Releases, and, for myself, my heirs, assigns and next of kin, I release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the releases from and all liabilities, incident to my minor child’s involvements or participation in these programs as provided above, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
