MANKATO, MN – Another two impressive wins for the Habaneros as they now extend their winning streak to 9 games.
Game 1 went into extra innings as the Honeybees made a comeback in the 7th inning, but the Habaneros pulled it out in the 8th to win 7-5.
Indigo Fish (University of Wisconsin-Superior) stood out on the plate as she had 3 hits and brought in 2 runs, bringing her batting average up to .480.
Paige Zender (Iowa State) also brought in 2 runs and tallied another home run, to make that 5 on the season.
Jessa Snippes (University of Minnesota) started out on the mound and posted a 3.59 ERA with 4 strikeouts. Riley Stiles (Rock Valley College) got her first win at the mound as she posted a 2.00 ERA with 3 strikeouts.
Game 2 was another big win for the Habaneros as they won 10-0, triggering the 10-run rule. The entire lineup brought something to the scoreboard as it was a perfect way to get win number 12 on the season.
Emma Lee (Trine University) had quite the notable game 2 as she brought in 3 runs to add to the Habaneros lead. Sailor Hall (Kirkwood Community College) added 2 runs to the scoreboard bringing her batting average up to an impressive .500.
On the mound for game 2, Jenna Sprague (Kirkwood Community College) earned her third win on the season. She finished 5 innings with a 2.58 ERA and 3 strikeouts.
The Habaneros will look to complete the sweep against the Honeybees as they play another doubleheader in Minot tomorrow. Not only would that be another series sweep, but the Habaneros could extend their winning streak to double digits.

Leveraging the 30-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024. The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play. Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
