The Habaneros take the loss to the Steam 6-7 tonight.

Starting in the circle for the Habaneros was Maddie Wihlm (North Dakota State University). Wihlm would pitch 2 innings of work, letting up 2 runs before being pulled without recording an out in the 3rd inning.

Katy Olive (University of Northern Iowa) would get things going for the Habaneros at the top of the 3rd with a double.

Followed up by Emma Lee (Trine University), Triple. Brooke Holmes (St.Cloud State University) would tack on another with a Sac Fly.

Sailor Hall (Minnesota State University) would come in for the relief of Wihlm and pitch the rest of the game. Hall let up 4 runs in that 3rd inning, but settled in nicely after the rough start.

The Habaneros bats were relatively quiet after the 4-run outburst from the Habaneros.

To start the top of the 6th, the Habaneros showed some team grit with back to back double from Holmes and Zender.

Marleigh Louvar (University of St.Thomas) would sub in the game as a Pinch runner and cause some havoc on the basepaths scoring the Habs 2nd run of the 6th inning.

The depth for the Habaneros shined as Head Coach Justine Schultz went to her bench for Finley Anderson (Minnesota State University) who came up clutch with an RBI Single to make the game 5-6 after the top half of the 6th.

The Steam would then answer back with some insurance of their own extending their lead to two runs after 6. Grace Frechette (St.Cloud State University) had an amazing day at the plate for the Steam going 3-4 with an RBI.

In the 7th the Habaneros made some more noise, but would be unable to pull off the comeback.
