MANKATO, MN – It was an unfortunate night for the Habaneros as they lost 8-7 against the Honeybees but it was still quite an exciting night overall.
Brooke Holmes (St. Cloud State University) got her first home run on the season, Sailor Hall (Minnesota State University, Mankato) got her fourth which has her still at second in the standings, and Paige Zender (Iowa State) got her ninth.
Jessa Snippes (University of Minnesota) had two runs which brought her average up to a .318.
Amity White (University of South Alabama) had a big game as well. She scored, brought in two runs, and acquired a double as well.
The Habaneros saw two pitchers take the mound starting with Sailor Hall. She faced 25 batters, had a total of 6 strikeouts, and ended her night with a 3.84 ERA.
Jenna Sprague took over for Hall facing 11 batters, with 1 strikeout, ending the game with a 3.03 ERA.
Even though the Habaneros couldn’t pull out the win, their lineup still showed up to play and impress on what was dubbed as Eras Night which brought the fans to ISG.
The Habaneros will travel to La Crosse to play in their rescheduled matchup, then head to Minot to face the Honeybees again as they look to get back to their winning ways.

Leveraging the 30-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024. The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play. Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
