MANKATO, MN – Yet another statement win from the Habaneros as they had an impressive 7-4 win over the Honeybees in yesterday’s showing.
Jenna Sprague (Washburn University) earned the win throwing seven innings with three strikeouts allowing seven hits, two earned runs, and zero walks.
Amity White (University of South Alabama) went 3-for-3 scoring three times with a two-run home run and two stolen bases. White was named the Northwoods League Position Player of the Night finishing with three runs scored and two RBI.
Indigo Fish (Winona State University) went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Serena Timmer (University of Minnesota-Duluth) added two runs to the Habaneros lead.
Savannah Teale (Kentucky State University) and Joscelyn Bennett (Bryant and Stratton College) each added one run to the scoreboard as well to secure the win for the Habaneros.
The Habaneros will head to Madison to face off against the Night Mares in three very important games for both teams.

Leveraging the 30-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024. The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play. Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
