(Grand Forks, ND) – The anticipation is nearly over! The Northwoods League Softball team coming to Grand Forks will officially unveil its team name, logo, and colors on Tuesday, November 11th at 6:30 PM at Frederick D. Pollard Jr Athletic Center. The event is free and open to the public.

The reveal follows months of community engagement through the Team Name Contest, presented by Farmers Union Insurance. The public submitted hundreds of great ideas highlighting our community’s history, values, and identity. The front office has been blown away by the incredible support and excitement for the six finalist names during the voting phase.

The finalists include: Flying Aces, Spitfires, Spudniks, Sweet Beets, Voodo, and Wingnuts. 

“Its’ been extremely exciting to see the passion, creativity, and community pride shown throughout this process,” General Manager Roberto Lemus said. “From the very beginning, our goal was to build something that truly represents Grand Forks and the sport of softball. We believe that the winning name really brings it all together, and we can’t wait to finally share what fans helped us create.”

The Name Reveal Event, presented by Farmers Union Insurance, will feature the official unveiling of the team’s name, logo, and color palette, along with appearances from team members, local leaders, and a first look at team merchandise.

“This team belongs to Grand Forks,” added Lemus. “This event marks the start of something special, and it’s only the beginning of what’s to come.”

The individual who submitted the team winning name will also be recognized at the event, the winning prize is two 3-game packs for life, an authentic team jersey, and the opportunity to throw out the ceremonial first pitch on opening day next summer!
