GRAND FORKS, ND – The Grand Forks Spitfires are giving fans the opportunity to be part of franchise history with the launch of the official “Name the Mascot” Contest.

As the Spitfires prepare for their inaugural season, the organization is calling on the community to help name the team’s newest and most exciting personality. The Spitfires mascot will play a major role in the game day experience bringing energy to the crowd, interacting with fans of all ages, and becoming a recognizable face of the franchise both in the community and at the ballpark. Early submissions are already rolling in, with fans bringing creativity and personality to the contest, and the organization is excited about the fun and unique names being proposed.

The official mascot reveal will take place on Opening Night, making it one of the most anticipated moments of the season. Fans can expect a high-energy, in-game debut that introduces the mascot in front of a packed crowd, adding to the excitement and celebration of the Spitfires’ first game in franchise history.

Fans can submit mascot name ideas from May 8 through May 15 by visiting SpitfiresSoftball.com. Following the submission period, the Spitfires front office and ownership group will review all entries and select the top five finalists on May 16 and 17. Public voting will open on May 18, giving fans another opportunity to be directly involved in selecting the winning name.

The fan who submits the winning name will receive four (4) tickets to Opening Night, making them part of this unforgettable reveal moment!

“This is a chance for our fans to help shape the identity of the Spitfires from day one,” said Roberto Lemusk, General Manager. “We want this team to feel like it truly belongs to the community, and there’s no better way to introduce our mascot than on Opening Night in front of our fans.”

In addition to the contest, the Spitfires are offering a limited-time Opening Night ticket promotion, available now through May 17. Fans can purchase a $20 bleacher seat or a $25 box seat, with both options including a hot dog, chips, and a drink.
