GRAND FORKS, ND – The Grand Forks Spitfires are proud to partner with Blue Cross Blue Shield for Strike Out the Stigma Month, a community initiative dedicated to raising awareness for mental health while supporting meaningful local impact throughout the month of July.

As part of the promotion, Blue Cross Blue Shield will donate $50 toward a local mental health initiative for every strikeout recorded by the Grand Forks Spitfires softball team during home games in July. Each strikeout will not only help the Spitfires on the field but will also contribute to expanding awareness and support for mental health resources in the community.

Throughout the month, the Grand Forks Spitfires and Blue Cross Blue Shield will work together to educate fans about the importance of mental health, encourage open conversations, and help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health challenges. Fans attending July home games can expect in-game messaging, promotional features, and opportunities to learn more about available mental health resources and the impact of the Strike Out the Stigma campaign.

Mental health affects individuals and families in every community, and the Spitfires are committed to using the platform of Northwoods League Softball to promote awareness and inspire positive change. Every strikeout recorded at home will represent another step toward supporting local mental health initiatives while demonstrating the power of sports to make a difference beyond the game.

“We’re excited to partner with Blue Cross Blue Shield on a campaign that goes beyond softball,” said Roberto Lemusk, General Manager of the Grand Forks Spitfires. “Strike Out the Stigma gives us an opportunity to use our platform to promote conversations around mental health while making a tangible impact in our community. We encourage all of our fans to join us throughout July as we support this important cause.”

Fans can follow the Grand Forks Spitfires on social media throughout the month for strikeout totals, donation updates, mental health resources, and additional information about Strike Out the Stigma Month. Together, every strikeout can help make a lasting difference both on and off the field.
