GRAND FORKS, ND – With just a handful of games remaining in the 2026 Northwoods League Softball regular season, every pitch, every at-bat, and every inning matters for the Grand Forks Spitfires as they continue their push toward the postseason.
The Spitfires enter the final stretch of their inaugural Northwoods League Softball season with a 19-17 record, currently tied for second place in the league standings alongside the Wausau Ignite. While the Madison Night Mares have secured the league’s top spot, the race for the remaining playoff berth is still very much alive, making these final games some of the most important of the season.
Grand Forks will wrap up the regular season with a crucial series against the Minot Honeybees. Every game carries significant playoff implications, and the Spitfires have an opportunity to punch their ticket to the Northwoods League Softball Playoffs with a strong finish.

The Spitfires encourage fans, families, businesses, and supporters from across the region to head out to Albrecht Field on Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1 for the team’s final home games of the regular season. Every cheer from the stands can provide the spark the team needs as they fight for a postseason berth.
