Who on Earth Starts a Softball Team?
Seriously — who does that? We’ve all heard the stories: teams that came and went, leagues that promised big things and quietly disappeared. Can a women’s softball league really work?
We think so.
Because we believe we’re different. This league is different. And most importantly — Grand Forks is different.
Just look at how this community shows up when things are done right — for UND athletics, the racetrack, and most importantly, for each other. Grand Forks has heart, and we believe it’s ready for something new, exciting, and unforgettable.
The numbers back it up: other teams in Northwoods League Softball are averaging nearly 700 fans per game, and Madison drew over 3,000 for their championship this summer.
Our team believes in softball.
Our team believes in community.
And we believe that, done right, Grand Forks Softball can become the most epic, fun, and affordable summer experience in the region.

But Why Softball?
Because it’s growing fast. Because it’s fun.
Because it’s everything people wish baseball still was — faster games (about two hours), more action-packed, and played by powerhouse athletes who bring the energy every single night.
And the proof is everywhere:
MLB recently partnered with a pro softball league.
The Women’s College World Series now outdraws the men’s.
Here in Grand Forks, we have one of the best facilities in the country to showcase it.
Albrecht Field is a true gem — with a stunning view of campus, a videoboard, nearly 1,000 seats, unique group areas, and family-friendly lawn space down the lines. It’s the perfect home for a summer night out.
So maybe the real question isn’t Why Softball? — it’s Why not?

This is Bigger Than Softball
- We’re not just a team — we’re an experience company.
- We exist to bring people together.
- To create core memories.
- To strengthen community.
- To celebrate women’s sports and make Grand Forks shine even brighter.
- This is a movement — and we want you to be part of it.

We’ve Heard the Concerns…
We’ve all read the stories. We’ve heard the skepticism. Teams have come before and left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. That’s why the recent Grand Forks Herald article was so refreshing. It told the truth — about the past and the future. We agree with every word. And here’s how we’re tackling those concerns head-on.
OUR PROMISE TO YOU:
This isn’t a gimmick. This is a mission — to build something special. We may not be perfect. We’ll make mistakes. But we’ll own them. Learn from them. Keep showing up.
Because WE CARE.
We care about the game. We care about the players. We care about this city.
And we care about making every night at Albrecht Field something you’ll remember forever.
So… who on earth starts a softball team?
We do. And with your help, Grand Forks, we’re going to make it something unforgettable. Let’s do this.
