Madison Has 4-Run Sixth in Win Over Wausau
WAUSAU, WI. – The Wausau Ignite fall 4-3 in their final game of the 2026 regular season. The Madison Nightmares saw a 4-run sixth inning that propelled them to the win. The game was an exciting preview of the championship between these two teams starting on Monday.
How It Happened
The first three innings for both teams came and went quietly. Zoey Mills (Northwestern State) pitched four innings of hitless softball against the Nightmares’ order. Gracie Konkol (St. Thomas, MN) reached base three times in the first four innings.
In the fourth, Wausau broke open the scoring with Madison Werner (UW-Madison) finding a bloop single, and Marley Teasley smoking her ninth homer of the year, putting Wausau up 2-0.
The fifth inning went silent for both teams.
In the top of the sixth, the Nightmares collected a single and a double before a 2-RBI double tied up the game. A two-run homer put Madison up 2. With two outs, Quinn Marnocha (SDSU) legged out a triple before an error by the Madison infield saw her score.
The Ignite still ended the game losing 4-3, after Zoey Mills came back into the game in a no-hit seventh.
