The Bombers took game one of the three game series tonight, 3-1. Adrian Garza got the start for the Bombers and only allowed one run on 5 hits in 8 innings.
The Woodchucks headed out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, but were not able to capitalize on any of their chances.
In the fifth inning the Bombers really started to get things going. Eric Schultz had an inning ending double play and a runner scored during the bottom of the fifth to tie the game at one.
Beau Didier had an amazing jumping catch at first base to end the top of the seventh inning. Bombers, with two out, had Dan Dispena up at the plate and was able to hit a double. Andrew Lawrence walked to put runners on first and second. Brett Kauten had a single RBI to score Dispensa. On that same hit, Lawrence would score off an error on the catcher, who over threw second base, and put Kauten on second. That ended the scoring and the Bombers won it 3-1.
