GREEN BAY, W.I.- The Bombers had their power on offense and on the mound Monday in their 9-3 win over the Booyah.

The win for the Bombers makes it their fourth win in a row away from C.O. Brown Stadium. Battle Creek also hit three home runs which is the most they have hit in a game this season. Koman Kuntz, Matt Catalfo, and Brian Zapp each went deep.

The Bombers got the lift they needed on the mound from Johnny Blake. The righty went six shutout innings giving up just two hits striking out eight.

Battle Creek gave Blake an early lead to work with. The Bombers hit a home run in each of the first two innings. Kuntz got it started in the first with his third home run of the season. He was followed by Catalfo who led off the second inning with his second home run of the season. Zapp capped off the scoring for the Bombers in the eighth with a two-run shot, making it 9-1.

The Booyah went with Carl Cano on the mound to start. He threw six innings giving up four runs on six hits striking out three.

Cano had retired eight in a row leading into his sixth inning of work when he gave up two runs on three hits. The big hit in the inning was Catalfo’s two-run triple which made it 4-0. Then the Bombers exploded in the seventh off reliever Bryce Miller when they scored three runs, two coming home on a Kuntz two-run double making it 7-0.

Both Catalfo and Kuntz each had three RBI. Catalfo went 2-4 and Kuntz went 3-4.

Green Bay had seven hits on offense. Nadir Lewis hit a two-run home run in the ninth off Adam Gonzalez make make it 9-3. The Booyah scored their first run in the seventh on an RBI walk by Brendan Ryan. The Booyah threatened big in the seventh as they had the bases loaded with two outs. But Nolan Lamere put the Booyah away in the seventh as he struck out Lewis.

The Northwoods League will go on pause tomorrow due to the Major League Dreams Showcase. The Bombers will finish their series with Green Bay on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 7:35 p.m.
