What is Northwoods League Softball?

NWL Softball marks a historic step forward for women’s sports, providing a platform for collegiate athletes and high school graduates to showcase their talents in a competitive environment. The league, starting with four teams, including the Minot Honeybees, aims to promote the growth of women’s sports and offer players and coaches valuable developmental experiences.

Why Not Minot?

NWL Baseball made a splash in Minot last summer with the inaugural season of the Hot Tots. This successful introduction has paved the way for the Minot Honeybees, expanding the sports landscape in the city. The Honeybees are led by General Manager Monica Hocking who holds the same title with the Hot Tots. As a former Division I swimmer at Missouri State University, she is passionate about providing female collegiate athletes the opportunity to excel at new levels, contributing to the broader awareness of women in sports.
