MINOT STATE PITCHER JOINS MINOT HONEYBEES
Jasmine Blizzard to Pitch in Softball Team’s Inaugural Season
MINOT, ND – Minot State University pitcher Jasmine Blizzard is staying in town this summer to play with the Minot Honeybees softball team for the 2024 season. A redshirt senior hailing from La Verne, CA, Blizzard returned to play for the Beavers in the 2023-2024 season as a graduate student and will be bringing her NCAA D2 pitching experience to the Minot Honeybees in the team’s first season.
“I’m very excited and honored to be able to play on one of the first Northwoods softball teams,” said Blizzard. “I’m also excited to play in front of the home crowd. Minot is such a supportive community and the environment is amazing.”
Blizzard pitched in 22 games for MSU and started in 9 games in the 2022 season before redshirting in 2023. During the 2022 season, she pitched in 22 games, started in 9, and pitched 4 complete games. She pitched a 5-hit shutout against the University of Mary and struck out a total of 61 players.
Prior to attending MSU, the right-handed pitcher played one season at Howard College (Texas). While at Howard, she proved to be a capable pitcher, throwing in 21 total games and starting in 19 games. She also pitched 2 shutouts in the 2020-21 season.
She played varsity softball at Bonita High School where she started in 28 games, only allowed .266 opposing players on base, and struck out 92 batters.
“Getting this opportunity to play against top-level competition is a challenge I’m looking forward to,” Blizzard said.
