The Minot Honeybees have opened their season already but today will be their first appearance at Corbett Field in 2025. The Honeybees will face the LaCrosse Steam in a doubleheader with the first game beginning at 5:05 and the second game at 7:35.

Minot started their season with a three-game road series with the Mankato Habaneros. The Honeybees won game one but the Habaneros responded by sweeping the doubleheader the following day. Game one saw seven of the nine Minot batters connect on a hit with three recording multi-hit days. Virginia Mambelli led the way, going 3-4 with three singles. Taylor Chillingworth and Trinity Gregg had the other two multi-hit performances. Shayna Myshrall also hit a home run in that game to lift the Honeybees to a 7-3 victory after the game was called due to weather in the seventh. Ashleigh Heiderscheit got the start in the circle in game one, going four innings and giving up two runs and two hits. Jackie Albrecht finished off the game with two innings of relief. She allowed one run on two hits. The final two games of the series were Mankato wins by scores of 12-11 and 9-6.

The Honeybees have been hitting the ball hard so far this season. They have four home runs across three games. Myshrall hit the first one, followed by two home runs from 2025 Minot North High School graduate and North Dakota State commit Cadey Shipman in game two. Oliva Lenzen hit the last home run in game three against Mankato. The team as a whole has a .519 slugging percentage and a .976 OPS. That OPS has placed them at third in the league.

Games one and two of a three-game series between the Minot Honeybees and LaCrosse Steam are today at 5:05 and 7:35. Come to Corbett Field to be a part of Honeybees Opening Day or watch live on Northwoods League+.
