The Minot Honeybees are looking to avoid the sweep tonight versus the Madison Nightmares. They lost on Monday 10-9 and yesterday 15-4.

Earlier today, Coach Craig Montvidas said that the Honeybees’ pitchers need to make an adjustment. The offense has done a good job hitting the ball with a team OPS of .964. The issue has been that the pitching staff is giving up too many runs. With that being said, Coach Montvidas believes that if the team scores six runs tonight, they will win.

There are two adjustments that Coach Montvidas wants his team to make, throwing strikes and getting on hitters early in counts. Walks have plagued the Honeybees so far this season. According to Montvidas, the pitchers need to trust their defense and give them a chance to make plays. He believes a big reason as to why this team has seen so much run production against them is because they allow batters to get comfortable in the box with a number of first pitch balls.

The Honeybees and Nightmares play at 6:35 for Moana Night. Come to Corbett Field or tune into the broadcast on Northwoods League+.
