In less than a week, Minot will make their presence known to Madison, Wisconsin. The Hot Tots and Honeybees will be playing a big part in this year’s Northwoods League All-Star festivities. Today, another opportunity has come about for the two teams to showcase their talents as Taylor Chillingworth of the Honeybees and Henry Allen of the Hot Tots were both selected as Home Run Challenge participants.

As the team leader in home runs, Taylor Chillingworth became the Honeybees’ first ever Home Run Challenge selection on Thursday. Chillingworth’s five big flies have played a big factor in the historic season the Honeybees are on. Recently, the shortstop from San Jose State crushed two more homers during the six-game homestand. She will compete alongside two other Northwoods League Softball players on Team Great Plains.

For Henry Allen, a spot in the Home Run Challenge should come as no surprise. The league-leader in longballs added to his total with two home runs in Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Eau Claire Express. With 13 home runs this summer, Allen remains as the only Northwoods Leaguer to have more than ten. Henry will be the leader for Team Great Plains in their effort to dethrone last year’s Home Run Challenge champions from the Great Lakes.
