MINOT, ND – When Trinity Gregg is playing centerfield for the Minot Honeybees, nothing falls but raindrops. Gregg, a member of the inaugural Honeybees team in 2024, was recently named to the Rawlings ‘Finest in the Field’ Award list.
Alongside eight other Northwoods League softball standouts, Gregg was selected for having a top-three fielding percentage across the entire league this past summer. Over 38 games, the Barnesville, Minnesota native compiled 45 putouts while adding four outfield assists. With just one error committed across 200 defensive innings, Gregg’s final fielding percentage stood at .980, ranking 13th in the Northwoods and third among outfielders.
Her sparkling clean defense shines at the collegiate level as well. When she’s not in a Honeybees uniform in the summer, Trinity plays for the University of Jamestown Jimmies right here in North Dakota. After a strong sophomore campaign at UJ, Gregg has a career .961 fielding percentage and a miniscule four errors in 87 games played.
Rawlings has honored the Northwoods League’s top defenders in baseball since 2002, and 2024 marked the first year the award was extended to softball players. Recipients of the ‘Finest in the Field’ Award receive an engraved trophy, a testament to their elite defensive skills.
Minot fans have even more to look forward to in 2025, as Gregg has announced her return to the Honeybees for another exciting season in the outfield.
