FIVE HONEYBEES SELECTED FOR INAUGURAL NWL SOFTBALL ALL-STAR GAME

MINOT, ND The Northwoods League announced its All-Star roster for the inaugural NWL Softball All-Star Game in Madison, Wisconsin, on July 11.

The 2026 All-Star Game will feature two different teams separated by East and West. The East All-Stars represent the La Crosse Steam, Madison Night Mares, and Wausau Ignite, while the West All-Stars represent players from the Grand Forks Spitfires, Mankato Habaneros, and Minot Honeybees.

Pitcher Parker Rowden, catcher Olivia Hernandez, centerfielder Clare Rettler, second baseman Bridget Chapman, and shortstop Sara Simon are all tabbed to represent the Honeybees on the West All-Star team.

Rowden has been the Honeybees’ ace for most of the season. In 14 games with Minot, Rowden has pitched in 51.1 innings, the most among any Honeybee pitcher. The Lafayette College junior holds a 5.73 ERA and leads the NWL in strikeouts with 45.

Hernandez has been a power threat in her second year in Minot. The Purdue Northwest senior is batting .269 with 14 hits and 19 RBIs, second on the team. Six of those 14 hits have been extra-base hits, and she has three home runs to her name.

Rettler has been an on-base machine in the leadoff spot for the Honeybees. The lefty slap hitter holds a .425 batting average and an on-base percentage of .475. The Carthage College senior leads the team with 31 hits, including two home runs, and has 16 RBIs.

Chapman has also been a great asset on the offensive end for the Honeybees. She is batting .391 with 25 hits and 19 RBIs. The University of Delaware sophomore has also supplied some power for the Bees, hitting three home runs and leading the team with a 1.123 OPS.

Simon has been a big asset to the Honeybees in her first year with the team. She is hitting a .385 batting average with 25 hits, and leads the team with 22 RBIs and four home runs. The West Liberty University senior has also played great defensively at shortstop for Minot.

Simon will also participate in an eight-player home run challenge beginning at 5:30 p.m. before the All-Star Game.

“I am very proud of our girls who have been selected for the All-Star Game,” Honeybees Head Coach Kendall Winn said. “This recognition is a testimony to the hard work, dedication, and consistency they have shown all season.”

This year’s All-Stars were chosen by an AI-based statistical model built by the Northwoods League, as well as input from the Northwoods League Office.

Honeybees fans can watch the Northwoods League Softball All-Star Game at Warner Park, home of the Madison Nightmares, as the West All-Stars face the East All-Stars on July 11 at 7:05 p.m. CDT on FloSports.
