Richmond opens the season at home against the Lakeshore Chinooks on May 25th

Richmond, Ind. – The Richmond Flying Mummies have officially unveiled their 2026 Northwoods League schedule, marking the franchise’s inaugural season in the league. The team will play 72 regular season games, including 36 at home, with Opening Day at Historic Don McBride Stadium set for Monday, May 25th at 6:35 PM against the Lakeshore Chinooks.

The Flying Mummies’ first-year slate features matchups with eight Northwoods League opponents: the Kalamazoo Growlers, Kenosha Kingfish, Rockford Rivets, Battle Creek Battle Jacks, Traverse City Pit Spitters, Lakeshore Chinooks, Madison Mallards, and the Royal Oak Leprechauns. Richmond will host each opponent at least once during its debut season as the organization launches a new era of summer baseball in Richmond.

The Northwoods League plays a split-season format that will conclude the first half of play on June 29, with the second half starting the next day. The postseason begins shortly after the regular season ends, with the first round scheduled for August 9-11, followed by the Division Championship on August 12, and the NWL Championship on August 13 or 14, depending on travel. The NWL All-Star Break will take place July 7-9, with the All-Star game being played July 8 at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa.

Highlights of the 2026 Flying Mummies schedule include:

  • A mix of weeknight and weekend home games, giving fans multiple options to experience the inaugural season. The Flying Mummies promotional schedule with theme nights, giveaways, and more will be announced in the coming months.

  • A day/night doubleheader on Thursday, June 18th, when the Flying Mummies host the Royal Oak Leprechauns for a 12:05 PM game followed by a 6:35 PM game, with separate openings for both games.

  • The Flying Mummies inaugural season concludes with the final home game of the regular season on Saturday, August 8th at 6:35 PM against the Kenosha Kingfish.
