The Richmond Flying Mummies continue unveiling talent for the upcoming season as part of the Mummies Unwrapped series, this time welcoming a pair of players from Georgetown University — Ashton Seymore and Jackson Thomas.
Ashton Seymore | OF | Chicago, Illinois
Seymore arrives in Richmond after an outstanding prep career at the Latin School of Chicago, where he was a three-year starter and one of the most decorated players in program history.
The Chicago native served as team captain during his senior season and earned ISL Baseball Player of the Year honors in both 2023 and 2024, while also being named the 2024 Team MVP. Seymore’s strong senior campaign included a .488 batting average, helping lead Latin to continued success during one of the most dominant stretches in school history.
During Seymore’s time with the program, Latin captured ISL championships from 2021 through 2024 and secured regional titles in 2021 and 2022. His standout senior season also earned him a spot on the 2024 IHSBCA Class 2A All-State Team.
Seymore also etched his name into the school record books with the longest home run in program history, launching a ball an estimated 450 feet.
In addition to baseball, Seymore was a multi-sport athlete at Latin, competing in soccer where he received a sportsmanship award.
Jackson Thomas | INF | Tampa, Florida
Joining Seymore from Georgetown is Jackson Thomas, an infielder from Tampa, Florida who brings a winning pedigree to Richmond.
Thomas was a two-year starter at Jesuit High School, helping lead the program to the 2024 Florida 5A state championship in the Florida High School Athletic Association postseason.
The Tampa native also competed on the travel circuit with 5 Star Tampa, gaining valuable experience against top competition.
With Seymore and Thomas joining the roster, the Flying Mummies continue to add talented young players with strong winning backgrounds as the team prepares for its inaugural season in Richmond.
