Matt Bomberg – Matt Bomberg joined the Northwoods League front office after spending the 2010 and 2011 seasons as General Manager of the Green Bay Bullfrogs of the Northwoods League. Prior to his time in Green Bay, he spent eight seasons working for two teams in the Goldklang Group. As the Senior Director of Ticket Sales with the Fort Myers Miracle, the single A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, he led the team’s ticket sales initiatives focusing on groups, mini plans and season tickets. Prior to Fort Myers, he was involved with the Saint Paul Saints for six seasons. During his time in St. Paul, he led a group sales department that posted record ticket and picnic sales each season. Bomberg is currently the President of the NWL’s Great Lakes Division and is President/Managing Partner of Richmond Baseball, LLC.
Ryan Voz – Ryan Voz is President/Commissioner of the summer-collegiate Northwoods League as well as co-owner/operator of the league’s Willmar Stingers. Voz has spent 26 years in the Northwoods League, starting as an intern with the St. Cloud River Bats in 1998 before a hiring as General Manager of the Alexandria Beetles (2001-06) and then founder/owner of the Stingers in 2010, honored as Northwoods League Executive of the Year in 2002.
Jon Gries – Gries is an actor, writer, and director. He is best known for the role of Uncle Rico in Napoleon Dynamite for which he was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male, and recurring character Roger Linus on Lost. He is also known for his roles in Martin, The Pretender, The Monster Squad, Running Scared, Real Genius, Dream Corp LLC, Get Shorty, and currently stars as Greg Hunt in Season Three of The White Lotus on HBO.
Chris Nelson – Chris Nelson is the founder and owner of Nelson Media Company. Chris brings over a decade of experience in TV news as a television meteorologist in five markets. His passion for storytelling and forward-thinking approach have fueled Nelson Media Company’s rapid growth and reputation for excellence.
Jared Vasiliauskas – A sports lawyer and partner at Power & Cronin, Vasiliauskas focuses his practice in the areas of Business, Labor/Employment and Sports. He has built and manages the firm’s Sports Law practice. As a former general counsel of a sports agency, he brings a unique skill set to the table, which allows him to effectively represent his clients throughout the sports business. Vasiliauskas received his JD from Valparaiso University Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management from Loras College.
Jon Heder – An American actor, producer, and filmmaker best known for his breakout role as the quirky, awkward title character in the 2004 cult classic comedy Napoleon Dynamite, which earned him MTV Movie Awards for Breakthrough Male Performance and Best Musical Performance. Born in Fort Collins, Colorado, and raised largely in Salem, Oregon, he launched his career with this iconic indie film and went on to appear in numerous comedies and family films, including The Benchwarmers, Blades of Glory, Just Like Heaven, and Monster House, while also providing voice work for animated projects like the Napoleon Dynamite TV series and Surf’s Up. A versatile performer with a distinctive comedic style, Heder has continued to work in film and animation, balancing his on-screen presence with family life as a husband and father.
Efren Ramirez – An American actor, producer, DJ, and entertainer best known for his iconic role as the soft-spoken, loyal Pedro Sánchez in the 2004 cult comedy classic Napoleon Dynamite, opposite Jon Heder, a performance that launched him to widespread recognition and cult status. Born in Los Angeles, California, he began acting in theater as a child, encouraged by his mother, and made his screen debut in the 1994 film Tammy and the T-Rex before landing early TV guest spots on shows like ER, Judging Amy, The District, Scrubs, and MADtv. Following the success of Napoleon Dynamite, Ramirez built a prolific career with roles in films such as Crank and its sequel Crank: High Voltage (where he played twin brothers), Employee of the Month, Walkout, and Gamer, along with voice work in animated projects and appearances in series like Eastbound & Down and The Casagrandes. Also an accomplished DJ who spins records at clubs nationwide, he has remained a versatile presence in comedy, action, and drama while engaging in philanthropy, public speaking, and authoring the book Direct Your Own Life.
Louie Keen – The colorful and larger-than-life Mayor of Uranus, Missouri—a Route 66 landmark known for its humorous attractions and fudge factory—adds a dose of quirky Midwestern personality to the ownership. As a longtime promoter of fun, community spirit, and roadside Americana, Louie is eager to help bring “wrapped-in-fun” energy to Richmond’s baseball scene. Louie also owns the Uranus Fudge Factories in Richmond and Anderson, Indiana.
Karla Merklein – An accomplished realtor and entertainment manager with deep roots in Southern California, brings strategic business insight and entertainment industry connections. Her expertise in property and talent management will support the team’s growth and community impact initiatives.
