Kids Day Double Header Coming 7/22 (1:05 Game) — Packs Available for $10, Players to Sign Cards On-Field
ROYAL OAK, Mich. — The Royal Oak Leprechauns, the Northwoods League’s nonprofit summer collegiate baseball team at Memorial Park, are proud to announce the release of their inaugural 2026 team trading card set — a 22-card collection produced in partnership with Pennant Cards, the hobby-grade custom sports card company that allows teams to design their own sets, wrappers, and packaging from the ground up.
The project was conceived and executed entirely by two Leprechauns interns, Cameron Schafer and Casey Burke, who sourced photography, designed the card template, handled all production logistics with Pennant Cards, and worked with team management to bring the vision to life.
The result is a 22-card set featuring 20 players from the 2026 Royal Oak Leprechauns roster alongside two coaches — Chris Faust and DJ LeMahieu himself. Each pack comes in a premium matte gold wrapper with a tear-away top that gives the set a true collector feel, and the cards themselves feature a glossy picture finish on traditional card stock reminiscent of the flagship Topps baseball product released each season. A Leprechauns sticker is included on each pack, featuring the team’s iconic script logo from their yellow jerseys in green and gold, commemorating the 2026 season. A second update set is currently in development and will include additional coaches and fan-favorite players from this year’s roster.
The cards made their public debut at Card Night at Memorial Park, where the Leprechauns invited local card and hobby shops, comic vendors, and collectors from across Metro Detroit to set up tables, meet fans, and grow their businesses inside the ballpark. The event brought together the Royal Oak community in a way that reflects what the Leprechauns organization has been building all summer — accessible, experiential, and built around the people who show up.
Kids Day at Memorial Park — Wednesday July 22, 2026 1:05 Game
The Leprechauns will host Kids Day at Memorial Park on July 22, featuring a double header that welcomes youth camps and school groups from across Metro Detroit. In celebration of Kids Day, packs of the 2026 team card set will be available at a discounted price of $10 — down from the regular $15 price — and all Leprechauns players will be available to sign autographs for kids throughout the event.
For many of these college players, it will be the first time a child has walked up to them with their card and asked for a signature. For many of the kids, it will be an up-close baseball experience they’ll remember for years. That combination is exactly what this organization has been working to create since its founding.
“These are the moments that make summer ball fun,” said Leprechauns Manager DJ LeMahieu. “Cameron and Casey put in real work to make this happen, and I’m proud of what they built. Giving these players a card of their own and letting the kids be part of that — that’s what this is all about.”
