MADISON, Wis. – After a 6-1 win in Madison on Tuesday, the Royal Oak Leprechauns have secured their place in the 2026 Summer Collegiate World Series and the Northwoods League Championship Game.

Defeating the Madison Mallards at Warner Park, the Leprechauns earned their third consecutive win in the playoffs, and the 2026 Great Lakes Division title.

On the bump, Spencer Boynton turned in the start of the summer, pitching a complete game, striking out seven Mallards hitters and allowing just one run on the night. In total, he only gave up three hits, keeping the opposition fooled from start to finish.

Offensively, the only run in the first five innings came via Parker McDaniels, knocking in the opening run for Royal Oak on a second inning single.

In the sixth, the Leprechauns added on, with Luke Kosko launching a home run down the right field line to add on two more runs to make it 3-0.

A few innings later, Royal Oak added on another trio of runs, with Steven Cavavo bringing in two on a triple, and Michael Zielinski tallying another on a sacrifice fly.

Madison would bring across their lone run in the ninth, but it was too late for a potential comeback, and the 6-1 Leprechauns win puts them one win away from Northwoods League history.

With the Great Plains Championship Game having been played on Wednesday, the St. Cloud Rox emerged victorious, and will host the winner-take-all Northwoods League Championship Game at Joe Faber Field on Thursday. Streaming on FloSports, first pitch from St. Cloud is set for 6:35 p.m. CT.
