RICHMOND, Ind. – With a rainout on Wednesday, the Royal Oak Leprechauns and Richmond Flying Mummies were forced to play back-to-back doubleheaders at Don McBride Stadium. After the Leprechauns dropped the first three games, they were able to grab a 13-0 shutout win in the finale, hoping to spark some momentum as the push towards the end of the first half continues.

On Thursday, with a doubleheader previously scheduled, Richmond earned wins in both nine-inning games, taking the opener by a score of 13-7 before a 6-4 win in the nightcap.

In the first of the two games, Aamir Mitchell drove in a trio of runs, while Mason Barth launched his second home run of the season. Additionally, catcher Carson Raether reached base multiple times, staying patient at the plate with three walks.

During game two, Royal Oak second baseman Mateo Noto sent a ball over the rightfield fence for his first home run of the year, while outfielder Luke Kosko did the same for his sixth longball of the season.

Rather than the full nine innings, because Friday’s doubleheader was the result of Wedneday’s postponement, the team’s played two seven-inning contests, with the Flying Mummies getting the 3-1 victory in the opener, and the Leprechauns closing the series with a 13-0 win.

Although the finale was just a 1-0 Royal Oak lead heading into the seventh, the Leps pounced with a 12-run final frame to end the series on a high note, drawing seven walks and tallying five hits while sending 17 hitters to the plate.

Team captain Patrick Ilitch had a team-high four RBIs, with Tate Deal also contributed offensively with a pair of hits. In terms of the pitching staff, Hagen Hacker, Michael Giroux, Kellen English, and Nathan Masar held the Richmond bats quiet throughout the night, combining for the Leprechauns’ third shutout of the week.

As Royal Oak continue their six-game roadtrip, the team heads to Kalamazoo to take on the Growlers for two games over the weekend before heading back home to face the Pit Spitters next week. First pitch from The Lucky Corner on Monday is set for 6:35 p.m. ET.

Tickets can be purchased on the team’s website or at the gate. Fans can also follow the team across all social platforms to stay up to date.
