10-Year Logo, Major Stadium Upgrades, Updated Mascot and More on Tap for 2016
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Battle Creek Bombers today announced plans for the celebration of the team’s 10th anniversary in Battle Creek. The Northwoods League affiliate also revealed a new commemorative logo for the 2016 season. The team plans to host a 10-year anniversary celebration June 18 when the team hosts the new Rockford Rivets baseball club. The team will wear a 10-year commemorative jersey, host players from the 2011 Championship team, announce the All-Decade Team and host a national entertainment act that night.
The team also announced major ballpark renovations that will drop the seating capacity of C.O. Brown Stadium from more than 4,000 to 2,300. The marquee renovation includes the introduction of an all-new “Home Plate Club,” which will feature 10 granite half-moon tables situated directly behind home plate. Each table will also feature four stadium chairs sourced from Camden Yards. Each table will have access to its own all-inclusive upscale menu, including both beer and wine pairings. The team has already had a number of these reserved and is taking deposits for full- and half-season plans immediately. All 10 tables are expected to be sold out well before Opening Day.
“The Champions Club,” which was sold out for most of 2015, now shifts down the first and third base lines. These areas will now feature additional legroom and a food and beverage railing in front of each seat. This renovation allows for a more comfortable fan experience and gives the Bombers 98 Champions Club seats for 2016.
The bleacher area will also look quite different this summer. The team will offer reserved bleacher seats instead of general admission seating, which will guarantee ticket holders a designated seat at each game. The first-base side will now have permanent vinyl grandstand covers over the seats. These covers will eliminate seating in an area where historically the sun has tormented fans.
The Miller Lite Party Deck will also be receiving a facelift, courtesy of Heights Construction. While some general upkeep and maintenance will be performed, the team plans to stain the deck area while repurposing seats from the original C.O. Brown Stadium bowl grandstand. Furthermore, the team has now limited the Miller Lite Party Deck to approximately 375 tickets on any given night and will allow groups to reserve their own private sections.
With the 10th anniversary in mind, the team will also reveal a brand new Moe Skeeter for fans to fall in love with this offseason. The new Moe Skeeter will feature a totally new design and begin making appearances as early as this April. The team plans to announce a kickoff event later this spring to unveil the new design.
With the announcements, Bombers General Manager Tony Iovieno added, “Being here in Battle Creek for 10 years is certainly something we wanted to celebrate with this great community. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than to introduce new fan-friendly stadium renovations, which I firmly believe will greatly enhance the overall fan experience and the feel of being at a Battle Creek Bombers home game. I’ve been telling everyone in and around Battle Creek – the Bombers are all-in on 2016.”
The team has also planned a slew of 10th anniversary fan giveaways, in conjunction with its major community partners. The Bombers and the Melges Group of Raymond James will provide fans with the opportunity to take home their very own 2011 Northwoods League Championship replica rings this season. Moreover, the team and Marshall Community Credit Union of Battle Creek will also be providing fans with a very unique jersey at no additional cost to fans. Exact details of the giveaways and other promotions will be released later this spring.
The Bombers will begin its tenth season of play in Battle Creek on May 31, 2016, as the Battle Creek Bombers play host to the Madison Mallards. Fans can guarantee tickets to the team’s top weekend dates of the season by locking in the Bombers new 5-game packs. 5-game packs include the best seats at the team’s five (5) best games with all-you-can-eat food and beverages with guaranteed giveaways and are $59 per package. Fans can order their 5-game packs online by visiting http://battle-creek-bombers.nwltickets.com/Ticket/Packages/ and choosing their seats.
