Riverfront Stadium in Iowa saw the hometown Waterloo Bucks spark up some offense against the Thunder Bay Border Cats winning 14-4.

Waterloo dominated all the way through, leading 9-3 after three and out hitting the Cats 21-6. The Bucks picked up multi-hit games from eight of nine hitters in the order, collected nine doubles and one home run to put on a show on home soil.

Alec Knop, with run support in hand, took the win (1-0) in relief. He allowed only two hits, issued two walks and struck out three over four innings of relief. 

Border Cats Starting Pitcher Brett Fanning (Upper Iowa University) made his first start and first appearance on the summer. He went five innings in the loss (0-1) allowing nine runs on twelve hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

The Border Cats and Bucks wrap up the series at the Riverfront on Wednesday starting at 7:35pm EDT/6:35 CST.
