BATTEN WINS NWL AWARD

Matt Batten (Quinnipiac University) of the Thunder Bay Border Cats has been selected as the top defensive shortstop in the Northwoods League by winning the 2015 Rawlings 'Finest In The Field' Award, as announced by the league on Monday, Sept. 28 

Batten, played in 69 of the 71 games, recording just 9 errors all season long for a .978 fielding percentage.  Offensively, Batten was among the league leaders in at bats and triples, ranking third in the league with 269 at bats and tid for fourth with six triples.  Batten was also second on the team with 31 runs scored, fourth on the team with 62 hits and third on the team with 10 stolen bases.
