Shane Street threw a guy out at second in the third inning to really start things off. Then a double play to end the inning and keep the game scoreless. During the other half of the third, Shane Street reached base on an error and advanced to second, but was left on base.
In the fifth inning a Sacrifice bunt by Travis Parker advanced runners to second and third. Brett Benesh hit to short where Forster dove but lost it underneath him to let a mallard score. Street caught another stealing second and James Jones struck Justin Scanlon out to end the inning. Adam Davis took a page out of Street’s book and caught Navarro Hall stealing to end the fifth inning.
A sac fly for Josh Parr hit a mallard run in. A pass ball on Street causes the runners to make it to second and third with one out. Davis hit an RBI single to center field to send another run in. The inning finished with a deep ball to center, that Sean Deegan caught.
To start off the bottom of the sixth Deegan hit a triple, his second of the year. And Deegan would score on a Josh Rosecrans sac fly. To bring the score to 3-1 in favor of the Mallards. Bottom of the seventh Brett Kauten hits a ball that takes a crazy bounce, scores one, and puts a runner at third.
The Bombers did not end up having enough juice to get them on top and the Mallards take it 5-2. The Bombers are now 2-4 on the season. The last game of this home stand starts tomorrow, Tuesday night at 7:05pm. It will be Taco Tuesday at the park, where everyone in attendance will receive free taco coupons courtesy of Taco Bell.
