The Bombers again went into extra innings on Saturday night, this time dropping game two of their series with the La Crosse Loggers 5-4.
After falling behind early 3-0, the Bombers strung three runs together in the fifth and sixth to tie the ballgame, with RBI credits going to Jordan Dean, Ryne Otis, and Matt Hitt. The game went into the 11th inning where Kristian Calibuso loaded the bases and eventually walked in the winning run for the Loggers, tying the series at 1-1. Battle Creek had numerous chances to win the ballgame, yet stranded 15 runners on base.
The Bombers pitching staff piggybacked their way through the game, with starter Nick Frey, Caleb Vincent, Alex Tukey, and Calibuso, all of whom threw less than 65 pitches.
Battle Creek concludes the series Sunday afternoon before heading to Madison for a pair of games with the Mallards.
