Bombers Announce Open Practice Dates, Free to Public

Battle Creek, Mich.—The Battle Creek Bombers will hold their first open workouts of the season this Saturday and Sunday, May 24th & 25th, and you are invited. The preseason workouts will begin at approximately 4:00 PM each day, and admission is free for both sessions at C.O. Brown Stadium. In his first year with the club, Field Manager Dan Trivett is looking to create a stronger connection between the team and the fans. Following the workout, the team will be available for an informal meet and greet. Not every member of the team will be present for the workouts, as some will still be competing with their college teams in conference tournaments and vying for a spot in the College World Series.

The Bombers will begin their season on the road against the Green Bay Bullfrogs on May 27th. The team will return for their home opener against new rivals the Kalamazoo Growlers on Thursday, May 29th at 7:05 pm. Fans 21 and over will receive a free Bombers jersey as a part of the first Thirsty Thursday of the season. Fans of all ages will be treated to the wild antics of the nationally acclaimed Inflatamaniacs. Be sure to join the Bombers at C.O. Brown Stadium all summer long as they fight to earn a Northwoods League Championship.

The Battle Creek Bombers are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (DET) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB). All league games are viewable live via the Northwoods League YouTube channel.  For more information, visit www.battlecreekbombers.com
