On the night of the Battle Creek Bombers' 10th Anniversary Celebration, Jordan Horak pitched a masterful performance on the mound as the Bombers topped the Rivets, 7-0.

Horak pitched seven scoreless innings for the Battle Creek Bombers, striking out seven, walking just one and allowing just four hits. Nigel Ward came on in relief for Horak in the eight and had an incredible debut as well, striking out two and retiring the side in both the eighth and ninth innings.

At the plate the Bombers started slowly, as they left a runner on in the first, but they quickly picked things up starting in the bottom of the third inning.

After Alejandro Gomez doubled to leadoff the bottom of the third, Daniel Patzlaff hit a single into right field to score Gomez from second and give the Bombers a 1-0 lead.

In the fifth, the Bombers would tack on three runs to their total as after Gomez and Patzlaff reached on two straight errors by the Rivets, Jarrod Watkins singled to score Gomez and Daniel Jipping knocked Watkins and Patzlaff home on a 2-RBI single to give the Bombers a 4-0 lead.

Battle Creek would again extend their lead, this time in the bottom of the sixth, as after Nick Podkul doubled, Gomez picked up his second hit of the night, scoring Podkul on a single. Gomez finished the night for the Bombers 2 for 2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

The Bombers would take a 7-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh, as Kevin Dupree knocked in Watkins and Nick Poirier after they led off the inning with two singles. Watkins also had a great performance at the plate for the Bombers, as he went 3 for 5 with two runs scored.

Horak picked up the win for the Bombers, his third of the year, while Drake Robison took the loss for the Rockford Rivets. With the win, the Bombers move to 10-9 on the season, while the Rivets drop to 10-9.

The Bombers are back in action Sunday afternoon at 3:05, as they look to sweep the two-game set against the Rivets.
