Brian Colopy
Owner
Brian is entering his first season as majority owner of the Battle Creek Battle Jacks. Brian began as an intern with the Battle Creek Bombers and now is the owner of multiple Northwoods League franchises. Colopy is known for his viral ideas such as Coach Drake, Pregame home run derbies, the Donut and Beer Festival, Salute to Selfie Night, The Twinkie Dog, and more.
Brian played college baseball at ohio University before pursuing a pforssional career with the Chillicothe Paints of the Frontier League. Prior to his internship with the Bombers, Brian spent two seasons working for the Ripken Group with the Augusta Green Jackets and the Aberdeen Ironbirds.
Brian led the charge in rebranding the Battle Creek Baseball Team in 2022, and was an integral part of keeping Northwoods League baseball in Battle Creek for the forseeable future. As general manager of the Kalamazoo Growlers, Colopy was awarded with the Northwoods League Executive of the Year in 2020, and the Growlers were named Organization of the year in 2016 and 2020.
Brian currently resides in Galesburg, MI with his wife, Liz and their two daughters, Adalyn and Mackenzie.
Tyler Shore
General Manager/Chief Fun Officer
2022 will mark Tyler’s 6th season as General Manager in Battle Creek and first with the Battle Jacks franchise. Shore took over as General Manager in 2017 after spending two years working with the Kalamazoo Growlers where he gained experience in sales, customer service, and community relations.
Over the past 5 years, Shore has been tasked with overseeing day to day operations of the baseball team while also being in charge of all corporate partnership sales. In his inagural season at the helm, the Batle Creek Bombers made it all the way to the Northwoods League Championship Game before falling short against the St. Cloud Rox. Shore was an intregal part of the rebranding of Battle Creek Baseball and is well known around the office for his off-the-wall creativity and optomistic outlook on any situation.
Shore currently resides in Battle Creek, MI with his wife, Bailey and thier golden doodle, Calvin. When Tyler is not at the ballpark, you will likely find him on one of the areas many great golf courses as his passion for baseball is only rivaled by his passion for the game of golf. Shore also enjoys watching his favorite sports teams on tv, and can often be heard saying “This is our year” in reference to the Lions, the Cubs, and the Michigan Wolverines.
Brian Nordstrom
Assistant General Manager
After spending two seasons working in the front office for the Battle Creek Bombers as the Fan Experience Director and Director of Group Sales, Brian took the short drive down I-94 to spend 2020 and 2021 with the rival Kalamazoo Growlers as the Fan Experience Director.
With the excitement and challenge of building a new team from the ground up, Nordstrom jumped at the opportunity to join the Battle Jacks staff and return to his roots here in Battle Creek with a new title: Assistant General Manager. Brian will mainly focus on generating ticket sales revenue and building relationships with local businesses.
Prior to his time in the Northwoods League, Brian graduated from Grand Valley State University in the spring of 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Marketing and Management. Orginially from the Detroit area, Brian is a big fan of all Detorit sports teams, especially the Lions. In his free time, Nordstrom enjoys paticipating in receational sports, including soccer, footbal, baseball and disc golf. He currently resides in Kalamazoo, MI with his girlfriend Sarah, their dog Wrigley, and his bearded dragon, Dracarys.
Alex Kuehl
Fan Experience Director
2022 will be Alex’s first year in Battle Creek and his first year with a Northwoods League baseball organization. Alex is the Fan Experience Director, and he is tasked with connecting with fans to discuss thier experience at the ballpark and find ways the organization can improve. Kuehl also oversees group sales and Kennel Club memberships.
Prior to joining the Battle Jacks front office, Alex began his career in sports at Davenport University where he spent 4 years working as an assistant for the Sports Marketing and Sports Information departments. Alex graduated from Davenport witha Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentraction in Sports Management. Outside of his experience at Davenport, Alex also spent time working in the box office for the West Michigan Whitecaps, who are the High-A Affiliate for the Detroit Tigers.
Alex currently resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan and enjoys his commute to Battle Creek as it gives him time to listen to some of his favorite music and podcasts. Kuehl is the resident hockey expert in the office, and even has his own podcast covering all the latest happenings on the ice. In his free time, Alex enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, watching RuPaul’s Drag Race, and playing video games.
Bailey Shore
Patnership Activation Manager
Since 2015, Bailey has been a staple of Northwoods League baseball in Southwest Michigan. During those 7 years, she has been the Partnership Activation Manager for the Kalamazoo Growlers, while also assisting with the partnership activation department in Battle Creek. She has experience working with partners of all shapes, sizes, and business backgrounds and she loves to build relationships with all of her corporate partners.
Beginning in 2022, Bailey took over daily operations for our sister company, Outlier Events, which manages special events such as Donut and Beer Festival, Taco and Tequila Festival, Undeinably Dairy Mac N Cheese Festival, and more around the midwest. She also manages the activation for all partnerships with the Battle Jacks. She began her career in sports as an intern for the Battle Creek Bombers while still attending Michigan State University in 2014.
Bailey is married to curent Battle Jacks General Manager, Tyler Shore, whom she met on her very first day as a full time employee in Kalamazoo. Bailey is a Battle Creek native, attending Lakeview High School before heading off to East Lansing to get her degree. As an MSU graduate, she enjoys spending her free time cheering on her beloved Spartans, making suer her dog, Calvin, is spoiled each and every day, traveling as much as possible and watching the Lions dissapoint her husband every Sunday in the fall.
The Battle Creek Battle Jacks are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players.
