Battle Creek, MI-After being shut out on the prior day, the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters scored 13 runs on 12 hits to beat the Battle Jacks, 13-3.

The Rafters took no prisoners in this game as they avenged yesterday’s one hit performance by spraying the baseball into gaps all over the field and, in some cases, over the wall. Wisconsin Rapids also took advantage of 14 free passes by the Battle Jacks Staff

Although the Battle Jacks lost, they did have some big plays in the game. The biggest of the day came from Spencer Verburg (CMU). As the rain began to fall at MCCU Field, the power hitting righty nailed the first home run at home for the Battle Jacks this season. The play gave Battle Creek some smiles as they head into their next game.

Other solid performances came from Fisher Pyatt (Central Arizona College) and Charlie Rhee (SDSU) who each also had two hit games.

The Battle Jacks (9-18) will look to bounce back against Wausau on Monday.
