It’s always special when someone comes home; and for the Battle Jacks, this one feels full-circle.
The team is excited to welcome back Gregory Pietsch as Assistant General Manager, overseeing Food & Beverage and Corporate Event Sales as the organization continues to elevate its fan experience heading into the 2026 season.
Gregory is no stranger to Battle Creek. He first joined the Battle Jacks family as an intern during the 2022 season, where his energy, professionalism, and love for the game quickly stood out. Since then, he’s gained valuable experience as Events Director at the La Porte Civic Auditorium in Indiana, managing concerts, corporate events, and community gatherings. Now, he’s bringing that expertise back to MCCU Field to lead a new era of hospitality and game-day programming.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Gregory back to Battle Creek,” said General Manager Sam Connell. “His energy, professionalism, and firsthand knowledge of our fan base make him a perfect fit as we reimagine what a night at MCCU Field can look like. This is a key hire as we continue to elevate our hospitality, food service, and group event offerings in 2026 and beyond.”
Reimagining Food, Fun, and Fan Experience
In his new role, Gregory will take the lead on the Battle Jacks’ enhanced “9 and Dine” food model; part of the team’s all-new Meijer 5-Game Battle Pack, which offers fans a premium, all-inclusive dining experience. He’ll also oversee group events, premium seating, and ballpark bookings for corporate partners, community organizations, and special events throughout the year.
“Coming back to Battle Creek and the Battle Jacks is a full-circle moment for me,” said Pietsch. “There’s real momentum behind what this organization is building, and I’m excited to help deliver a fan experience that’s bigger, better, and more memorable than ever.”
Gregory is currently relocating from Indiana and will work remotely in the short term as he transitions back to Battle Creek.
Leveling Up for 2026
Pietsch’s return marks another key step forward for the Battle Jacks as the team builds toward a reimagined 2026 season. With the Battle Pack membership off to a strong start and the club’s premium food and hospitality strategy earning early praise, the franchise is putting the right pieces in place to deliver a world-class ballpark experience for fans, groups, and community partners alike.
The 2026 season is shaping up to be one fans won’t want to miss; filled with fresh flavors, unforgettable nights, and the same community spirit that makes Battle Creek baseball truly one of a kind.
