La Crosse Steam Lands a Great Pitcher from William Peace University
Right Handed Pitcher, Rachel “Franny” Mori Joins the Steam

LA CROSSE, WI – The La Crosse Steam continues to build a talented roster today as they announced the signing of right handed pitcher, Rachel “Franny” Mori.

The 5’5” William Peace University sophomore played in 18 games, starting 6 during the 2023 season. Mori tallied 6 strike outs in 16 innings in the circle as well as recorded 2 hits, 4 runs scored and 2 RBI. Mori has a 6.95 ERA and a .722 fielding percentage.

Rachel Mori and the rest of the Steam will open their 2024 campaign at Copeland Park & Events Center on June 15th when they take on Madison Softball.

Leveraging the 30-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024. The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play. Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
