Utility player, Katelyn Beagle Joins the Steam

LA CROSSE, WI –  The La Crosse Steam continues to build a talented roster today as they announced the signing of utility player, Katelyn Beagle.

The 5’7” University of Illinois-Springfield freshman is doing well in her first year as a Prairie Star. During her freshman season, Beagle is hitting .214 with 1 home run and 2 RBI. As a utility player Beagle is successful in many different positions, with a fielding percentage of .971, 13 assists, and 20 put outs.

Katelyn Beagle and the rest of the Steam will open their 2024 campaign at Copeland Park & Events Center on June 15th when they take on the Madison Night Mares.

Leveraging the 30-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024.  The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play.  Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
