Great Pitcher from Spalding University Jumps on Board with the Steam
Right-Handed Pitcher, Sydney Schott Joins the Steam
LA CROSSE, WI – With 15 days left until the home opener, the La Crosse Steam adds another great player to their roster today as they announced the signing of right-handed pitcher, Sydney Schott.
The 5’10” senior for Spalding University, has had a great journey. Originally from Saint Peter, MN, Schott started her collegiate journey at NDSCS where she pitched an average of 92.8 innings with an ERA of 4.26 throughout her time there. She has since transferred to Spalding University to finish out her collegiate career.
Sydney Schott and the rest of the Steam will open their 2024 campaign at Copeland Park & Events Center on June 15th when they take on the Madison Night Mares.

Leveraging the 30-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024. The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play. Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
