Steam Signs Outstanding Infielder from Carroll University
Infielder, Valerie Osthoff Joins the Steam

LA CROSSE, WI – With only 8 days left until the home opener, the La Crosse Steam adds another great player to their roster today as they announced the signing of infielder, Valerie Osthoff.

The 5’6” sophomore for Carroll University started her collegiate career at Waubonsee Community College. Osthoff hit .255 with 27 RBI’s, scored 22 runs, and collected 30 hits as well as had 6 doubles and 6 home runs on the season.

Valerie Osthoff and the rest of the Steam will open their 2024 campaign at Copeland Park & Events Center on June 15th when they take on the Madison Night Mares.

Leveraging the 30-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024. The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play. Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
