Brandi Alonzo named as Head Coach for the La Crosse Steam

LA CROSSE, WI – After being a part of the La Crosse Steam’s inaugural coaching staff, Brandi Alonzo returns for her second season but this time as the head coach, team officials announced today.

In the Steam’s inaugural season, Alonzo served as one of the team’s assistant coaches. “Being a part of the Northwoods softball Inaugural season was such an amazing experience this past year,” Brandi notes, “and having the opportunity to be back with the Steam this season is something I am extremely grateful for and I am excited to have the chance to coach some familiar faces from last season and bring in some new athletes to the Steam family.”

Brandi also mentioned that she is “excited to see how much the league will grow this year and continue to add new Steam fans.”

Brandi Alonzo joined the Viterbo V-Hawks in 2015 and in her first year she doubled the team’s wins only to double it again in the following year. As a coach she has a total of 104 victories. As a student-athlete, Alonzo attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she received a full scholarship to play softball. While there she started all four years, playing over 200 games and earning Conference-USA All-Freshman team honors at USM.
