Steam Adds Utility Player to Roster

Dani Philp Joins for 2025

LA CROSSE, WI – The Steam is excited to announce the addition of a standout utility player, Dani Philp, to the 2025 roster.

Philp, a York University utility player, is in the midst of her freshman season with the Panthers. Originally from Golden, CO, Philp consistently made an impact on the Varsity squad at Golden High School for all four years of enrollment. She was a .435 hitter over the course of her high school career, and recorded no fielding errors in her senior season.

Leveraging the 31-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024.  The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play.  Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
