The Royal Oak Leprechauns are proud to announce that two of the club’s standout players from the 2025 season — first baseman Ryan Tyranski and Danny Cook (pitcher) — have been recognized by the Northwoods League as recipients of the 2025 Rawlings “Finest in the Field” Award. The annual award honors the top defensive players at each position in the Northwoods League based on final fielding statistics for the season.

Tyranski recorded an exceptional .989 fielding percentage at first base, earning him one of the league’s highest defensive marks among his peers. Known for his consistent glove work and reliable presence around the bag, Tyranski’s performance helped anchor the infield and gave the Leprechauns added confidence on defense throughout the summer. In addition to this honor, Tyranski was also named a Leprechauns All-Star during the 2025 season.

While Danny Cook was mainly a standout infielder for the club in 2025, he tossed some innings on the mound, and was impeccable which helped him secure the award.

The Rawlings “Finest in the Field” Awards are selected each year by the Northwoods League based on the best fielding percentages at each position across both baseball and softball. This recognition underscores the defensive excellence and commitment to all-around play exhibited by Tyranski and Cook throughout the 2025 campaign.

“Ryan and Danny consistently made plays that were critical to our success last season,” said Leprechauns field manager Chris Faust. “Their defensive work helped keep us in games, and their overall leadership on the team was great. This recognition from the league is well-deserved and reflects their hard work all year long.”

Tyranski and Cook’s contributions this past season reflect the Leprechauns’ continued emphasis on strong fundamentals and competitive excellence. With both players returning to their college programs this fall, the organization looks forward to following their progress and cheering on their continued growth — both on and off the field.
